Delphine Ratcliff

British author. Only wrote these two pony books as far as I am aware. One is a pony point of view tale, the other a traditional pony story. Both books were published as part of the popular pony library Crown Ponies and are fairly undemanding comfort-type reads.

Pony Books:

THE GOLDEN PONY
(LUTTERWORTH 1966)
Part of the Crown Pony Library series (no.8)
SUMMARY: Pony point-of-view story of a chestnut mare from foalhood. She eventually finds a perfect owner...but then is stolen. Will she ever be re-united with him again?
PONYMAD RATING: 2-3 HORSESHOES

CLEAR ROUND FOR KATY
(LUTTERWORTH 1967)
Part of the Crown Pony Library series (no. 9)
Also reprinted in the 1970s in the paperback Crown Pony series.
SUMMARY: Katy was looking forward to seeing the new pony at the riding stables, but when Bracken arrives he is neither handsome or sociable...will she learn to love him?
PONYMAD RATING: 3 HORSESHOES

Collectors Info:
Clear Round for Katy is the easier of the two to find as it was reprinted in paperback. Neither books however are particularly rare or expensive, although they are harder to find outside the UK.

Short stories in other books & collections:

THE BIRTHDAY RIDE
In PONY MAGAZINE ANNUAL  1974
(PURNELL 1973)
ILLUSTRATED BY ELIZABETH SHALLCROSS

Collectors Info:
Not too hard to track down in the UK and usually quite low cost. Harder elsewhere however.
